Hello,
I recently set up an auto doser that I was using for alkalinity. I was shooting for an alkalinity around 8.0dKh. I calculated my system to be using around 0.3dKH a day so I set the doser to match.
My problem is is that the alkalinity will not stay at 8. It is dropping to 7.3-7.4 after two days and then leveling off here. I am using a cheap jebao dosing pump and notice air in the tubing. I tried getting the air out but it keeps returning. I think it is strange that it gets to a certain level and then stays consistent, does this make sense or is this probably a problem with the doser not delivering proper amounts?
I’m working on fixing the doser or upgrading this alkalinity pump. I’m also dosing phosphate with the jebao and it is keeping the levels perfectly steady so I’m just confused if it’s maybe not the pump and some chemistry aspect I am not aware of.
salinity: 1.0245
pH: 8.2
Ca: 410
Mg: 1350
dKH: 7.3
Using Hanna for alk and Salifert for others.
thank you!!
