Alkalinity?

The alk is lower than the pro. I agree with the above posts, salinity is low. I run mine at a 1.0251 to a 1.0256.

That's what I thought and the reason will house only softies. Don't want to have to supplement. So any idea why "easy corals" are just surviving?

If you have or intend for coralline algae to grow on rocks (instead of green hair algae), that uses a lot of calcium and alkalinity, and so it may become necessary and is not a big deal. :)

Purity of your source water could impact all invertebrates, including soft corals. Are you using tap water?

I just purchased a HANNA H1713 Phosphate Low Range Checker. Wonderful, easier to use. Also after 25 years I started using ELOS ALK, Calcium, and Magnesium kits. Very simple and quick way to get a lot of info.
