my tank has been up 6 months. 80 gal hex 2 55’s in basement stacked for sump 20gal quarantine tank in line with sponge filter can be isolated when in use otherwise I clean and keep it inline running for a total of somewhere around 165 gal. Mag is high at 1440. Calcium 415. Ph 8.1. Temp 77.9 salinity 1.025. Dkh 7.5. And I can’t seem to raise it, precipitates out and finds its way to the sump. I have lots of bio media an 8 inch reef octopus skimmer Fed from outside air. A 50 watt uv sterilizer. GFO and carbon.

How do I raise the dkh trying soda ash dry.
Have sodium bicarbonate and kalkwasser.
Do I need to use one or more together?
Being low and jumping and dropping can’t be good need some assistance
Thanks

No I don’t I have a bubble tip anemone and a long tentacle anemone a dozen snails otherwise lightly stocked small fish couple shrimp

I would use sodium bicarbonate to raise the alk. That way your PH won’t rise to much. BRS has a calculate to determine how much you need to dose. I would think that water changes should keep your Alk stable given your stocking level

Thanks Steve
I’ll try that been having hard time Why is it falling out doesn’t seem to be taking to much calcium out maybe I’m adding to fast, to much I use there calculator for amounts read about not raising levels more than? per day but it has been precipitating out in fine white particles makes a heck of a mess
