My alkalinity has been 7.7-8 for the last 2 months (salifert) and I'm going to be transitioning into a reef tank within the month. If this stays steady, can I keep it at this level? Mostly soft and maybe a few LPS corals.

All fine. For softies and LPS you can even bring salinity down a bit, but depending on your salt mix that may bring alkalinity down pretty far too.

That’s fine. I run my dkh a little higher. It really depends on the “sweet spot” your tank prefers (everyone’s water is different). More importantly, though, is stability.

yes absolutely. I have seen really nice reefs at 6, stability is the key to all things coral related. dont chase numbers around you will only create more issues. 7.5 - 8 is ideal, mind you, although some will argue 9 or 10 is better but really there are several factors for each tank.

Mine hovers right around 9.2. I dose just enough calcium and buffer to keep things doing well.

Also my calcium is high (500ish) because I'm using reef salts in a coralless aquarium. Once I put corals in here, it should drop right?
