Hi I have a five gallon ato tank I plan on using it to dose seachems reef builder to keep my Alk in check .the main tank is 100g so do I dose the 5g ato with enough reef builder to treat the 100g or do I just put enough in to treat the 5g . I think it would be enough for 100g but just thought I'd ask. And the dkh is 8.

The amount you need to dose is based on how much your tank uses per day. How strong a solution needed in your ATO depends on how much your water your ATO moves to your tank per day. These are both interrelated.

Thanks for the quick reply the tank only uses 1g a day so time to get calculator out for the required amount of reef builder thank you

He means the amount of alkalinity you consume each day. That can only be determined by testing. Do not dose alk supplements without testing.

I will check the level each day for 5 days then work out the mix from that thanks guys.
