I have just switched to BRS new alaklnity/Ca pharma for my dosing. My All has been running around 9 dkh and CA around 420. I have been trying to bring the CA up a little higher. Corals have all been looking good. Well I was out of town this weekend and got several alerts that my PH was high (Apexfusion) and I turned down the ALK dosing as a precaution. When I Arrived home yesterday I checked ALK and CA and I was at 12.4 dkh and 452 CA both with Hanna test kits. I turned the ALK dosing OFF. I checked this morning and my ALK is at 13.9 and my CA is showing 200. I am doing a 25 gallon water change right now to see what that does. Any suggestions as to what is going on?

Sounds like a precipitation event. Anything in the tank looking like a white film all over it? If too much alkalinity was dosed then a precipitation could have happened and caused the calcium to drop.

I just figured out what I did... I mixed up a new batch of CA last Thursday...out of the wrong bucket. I have been overdosing ALK.

Did a 15 gallon it brought the ALK down, but Ca is still low, I am mixing 40 more gallons right now. 180 gallon display. ALK doser is turned off, don't really want to crank the Ca up too high quite yet.

The Akakinty in my tank seems low. 5.65 Dkh. Should I be concerned?
My PH is 7.62 Calcium 489 ppm Magnesium 1600 ppm, Salinity is 1.027
I am using Tropic Marin Reef Pro. If I raise Alk I expect the PH will rise. Any suggestions on what I should use to adjust alkalinity?
