All fish but one died

I would recommend getting some prime in there, carbon in case of contamination, get some flow at the top for surface agitation for plenty of air, and a fresh water dip may give some temp relief while we try to figure out what’s up.
Im going to run to petco and see if they have any prime because i dont right now. Would you recommend moving it to a different tank with fresh saltwater too?

when marine velvet took out my tank it killed them in a matter of hours half of them showed no outward signs the other half had a very heavy mucus on them and spots all over
That really stinks. I'm really hoping i can save the clown. He was our first fish in the tank

A move may be good, it may also stress him to the point it is the end if not matched. Anyway to get us a pic before we do anything?

I made a thread earlier today about it. When i was at work my girlfriend texted me saying two of our fish and all of our crabs just dropped dead all of a sudden. The only living now is our chocolate mocha clown but hes breathing really heavy. Now that I'm home and tested the water I cant figure out what happened. The parameters all checked out fine and the temperature and salinity are the same as always. The clown is breathing pretty heavy. I dont really know what to do to save him or what killed the other two fish. Should i go out and get a small tank and set that up to put the clown in?

You say your crabs and all but one fish died. To me, that screams toxins in the water, but I need to double check - are there ANY other invertebrates in the tank that are still o.k.? That is a critical bit of info.

It isn't stray voltage (the animals in the tank are not grounded, so are not affected - exactly why a bird can perch on a high tension wire and not get zapped).

It isn't flukes, or any other specific-host fish disease, as that would not have killed the crabs.

It *could* be a cascade event - where a fish dies, putrifies, and then the water quality degrades to the point that the rest of the animals die. This could be low dissolved oxygen, especially in light of the bacteria bloom you saw earlier (those can really suck up oxygen).

There arent any other inverts in the tank. It was just some crabs and the 3 fish. The only thing that survived at all was the clown. And it all happened with the time span of about an hour

So - that points to some toxin in the water, or low dissolved oxygen. If the last clown is still alive, ramp up the aeration and use carbon/water changes to dilute possible toxins....sorry!

I've looked a little bit more into flukes and after seeing what happened with the angel from the time i got him until now i think it might have had it. It seemed to have all of the signs of it and im guessing the angel dying just start a chain of events. I put in some new carbon and i added some prime to the tank. Theres also plenty of aeration so fingers crossed the clown will get better

Are you sure it wasnt Brook?, Brook could often mask itself and not show much until it's to late. Heavy mucus also a sign of Brook.
Either way, brook/velvet they both suck

indeed no im not 100% sure it was velvet or brook im just calling it velvet because most of the fish had the appearance of velvet but whatever it was killed all but 2 of my fish in 24 hours i attempted to save 2 but they didnt make it in QT

Ok, please don't take this the wrong way but... you mentioned your girlfriend was at home when it all happened. There has been a lot of cleaning, and possibly Fabreeze in use. Is there any chance the tank had some toxic chemicals introduced by accident while you weren't there?

That very well couldve been what happened. I honestly dont really know. I asked her if she had cleaned before hand and she said she didn't but who knows

Sorry man, that sucks. I really hope your clown pulls through. Can flukes kill crabs, though?
