For those that use this is the mixed solution supposed to have a slight haze to it?

(PS - assume you're using the All for Reef - by tropic Marin):

It depends on how it was mixed. (ideally it should not have any haze) - but there are lots of threads that describe it - with the main causes being:

1. adding water to the powder instead of the other way around
2. Not mixing enough or allowing enough mixing time.
3. Error in measurements leading to precipitation.
4. If you use 'cold' water - that can also cause delayed dissolving.

Hope this helps

Is it sage to use?

Describe the process? ive made a hand full of batches with no cloudiness. I use room temp ro water and measure water (i do half doses} in algae barn container. its exact size lol. sometimes i get a small blob of sludge but always clear

Is it sage to use?
My assumption would be 'yes' - with the caveat - that the amounts of Ca, Alkalinity, etc will not be exactly the same as properly mixed solution (i.e. some of the haziness is probably precipitate of Ca and Alkalinity (carbonate) - and will not affect the tank - but the concentrations of Ca and Alkalinity will be lower.

So - when you make your next batch - and there is no 'haze' - you will probably need to adjust the dose you're using p or you will overdose. Can you think of anything that you might have done to cause it?

PS - sometimes when I mix up even BRS soda ash - there is sludge/undissolved chemical. It usually resolves - with vigorous shaking in a closed container.

you could take a gallon of salt water and dose in a known amount and measure the ca alk and mg and see if its off alot

Based on your post assuming cold water.
