All for Reef in a nano

So, im trying to peg my dosage with All for Reef. I have a Fluval 13.5 and i just bumped my dosage to 5.5ml/day. I thought this stuff was supposed to be super concentrated.... any one else use AFR in a small tank? Whats your dosage?

I have a innovative marine 20, alk was pegged dead nuts (at 8.3 dkh) with 5.5ml daily as well for quite a while but as my corals have grown I find alk is slowly dipping. Now at 6.2ml/day and I think I’m going to have to bump it up more. I’ll add a pic of my tank for amount of corals as reference.

That sounds about right.

Your tank minus rock volume is about 12 gallons of water volume (I'm guestimating). I have a 3.8 gallon pico with about 3 gallons of water volume. Your tank volume is about 4 times of what I have. I dose 1.50 ml daily. 5.5 ml / 4 = 1.375 ml..... so roughly the same dosage.

A lot of it depends on your salt mix also. If your salt brand mixes at a higher alkalinity, you may need to dose more to maintain that number between water changes (and how much water you change).

5.5ml isn't that much and smaller tanks drain alk faster

Sweet, thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure i wasnt dosing too much. The directions make it seem like 5ml/100l is the ideal dosage. Seems like it could go a bit more into detail

Crazy your AFR consumption is more than double mine on 5 more gallons.

I’m reall happy with AFR. I’m dosing 20ml/day in my 30 gallon reef. I’ve been slowly increasing the dose based on testing as my corals grow.

I am in the process of swapping out my lights. That will pause my alk intake for a bit, otherwise it was going up.

I have 13 acros (1 mini colony), 1 digitata (mini colony), 1 stylo (mini colony), 1 goni, 5 zoas (~200 heads), and 5 acro frags.

So im at 8.1 ml and testing twice daily at 8:30. Alk levels keep dropping but other parameters seem good. Should i bump it up to 9ml. Is there a calculator for this stuff?

Yeah, I would bump it up until it’s a little more stable. There maybe a calculator somewhere, but I just test and adjust.
