All For Reef not mixing!

your not using a "heaping" scoop are you? And your not packing it in right?
I believe you should be using 500 ml, thats how I understand the instructions and its how I do it.

Maybe you can post a pic of your scoop and of your unmixed stuff, something seems wrong, its not hard to mix lol
Yea I packed it real good lol

yea that would be the correct way. I suspect op and I were a little heavy handed with our scoops and which is why we couldnt dissolve in 900ml. I will also be switching to a scale next

I honestly do not know if it is right or wrong. Sorry if I came across that way. I just didn't understand the real part of the OP's question. I did leave off a detail with regards to the scale. And I'm not kidding about the scoop and ice cream reference. I tend to go a bit overboard...

Hope your day is going well.

Thanks for helping out! Glad we could find out what the problem was.

Maybe if you dump it in it precipitates. Try sprinkling slowly and stir with kitchen whisk as you go.

I mixed with room temp with no luck which is why I switched to warm water cause some people said that helped them.
When you say no mixed, mine is still a little cloudy, the powder never goes as clear as the bottled version…I guess yours is a bad batch then as with a magnetic stirrer it should mix, there is no magic trick to it.

We figured it out I was just using too much powder to water ratio

Found this article while having similar issues. Added a bit more RODI and in minutes the magnetic stirrer did its thang. I’ll be scaling 160g from now on. Guessing this mixture has a saturation level that must be in balance

Ive been using it for 9 months now! the trick to fully dissolved product is to use more water, they are aiming for the maximum super concentrate with their formula, THE TRICK IS 6 SCOOPS TO 950 TO 100 ML, NOT 900!!! So the mixture is a little less concentrated, it's fully dissolved! You simply dose a little more every day to compensate for it being less concentrated, I mix it the same way every time, so no need to adjust dosing pump with each new batch!! ELIMINATES A LOT OF HEADACHES!!

EXACTLY, I do the same, amazing what a little more RO can do!!

Personally speaking I weight it. 160 g per 950 RODI. I found the way I was using the scoops it was a bit unreliable as it relates to how much product was actually used. Pack too light or too hard, etc.

I place 900mL of RODI into a 1000 mL beaker. Place beaker onto magnetic stirrer and turn on. Scoop in 6 leavel spoons of AFR. Let it mix for 20 minutes and it's ready to use

I think I’ve found the problem! Once I added a little more water it is almost completely clear I think I just need to start using more water than what is stated in the mixing instructions.
I mix at 2x dilution and pour 2x amount.

Mixes very well, i drip for longer .. been working great.

Only issue I notice is some "slime" like settlement in reservoir after a few days ..
I used to use premixed and that had 0 deposit ...ever. so do not know what causes the deposit, what is deposited and how to avoid the deposits ...

My corals and tank been doing super well for months so I am not worried.. but be good to solve the mystery!
