Quick background on my tanks chemistry, have been using frit RPM blue salt, dosing All-for-Reef for major elements, and NoPOx for nutrient control. I'm targeting 32-34ppt salinity, a slightly elevated 4.0-4.4 meq/L (11-12 dKH), Ca around 420-440ppm, Mg betwween 1400-1500ppm. pH has been averaging around 8.13-8.18.

I've been scaling the dose of A4R to scale with my calcium levels, and growth, but have seen KH ust running off the scale, up to between 4.8 and 5.2 (13.4-114.5 dKH), where it's been steady. What does this indicate about my tanks growth, chemistry, and does it have any potentially harmful side effects. I'm considering switching to a 2 part if it's problematic, but really appreciate the simplicity of A4R. Thanks folks - Tyler

Dosing 2 part gives you the benefit of dosing the part you need.

I was loving A4R for quite awhile with no issues, then suddenly - seemingly out of nowhere - my alk started spiking with it. I blamed my doser but I'm not 100% sure that was the case. Curious to see some others chime in.
