So question.... Why is the pre mixed All For Reef clear but when you mix it yourself it is tinted yellow?

Help mixing Tropic Marin All-For-Reef Powder

So shouldn't the bottle be more than 2/3 full then? Did you add 160g to 1L of water? Looks like not enough water in the photo? And was the water very hot? 100f isn't very hot.. that's barely warm to the touch. I use a hot plate and it feels warm but I can keep my hand on the container...

if you use RO water, it dissolves to clear...same as premixed...for me every time. I use a magnetic mixer.

This is a chemistry question, best handled by @Randy Holmes-Farley, in that forum.
Id guess it has to do with mixing procedures, temp, time or agitation.

This has already been answered by @Randy Holmes-Farley. It's caused by iron, and manganese which causes the yellowish brown color that is harmless

My powder mix will mix clear (using magnetic stirrer) but as it settles the container will show yellow

We understand the reason for the color when mixing the powder. Why would the premixed not have the same color?

I’ve heard that the increase in trace elements in the new formula can cause a discoloration - having said that, I mix mine in fresh RO with no color
