All for reef settling out

How many of you run an magnetic stirrer with your all for reef?
I dose 20 ml a day out of a 800ml container. I went to do some maintenance today and there a weird ”ribbon” of stuff that was just floating in the jar. Upon shaking it seemed to dissolve. This makes me wonder if I should setup a magnetic stirrer on an outlet with my apex.

I have an intllab magnetic stirrer that turns on for 1.5 minutes every hour. I fell that this is necessary with all four reef as it seems to settle out if not mixed. The mixer is $30 at Amazon.

I should not be necessary to use a magnetic stirrer, and I'd likely ignore it.

I see no need why that should be necessary. I mix 1800 ml at a time mixing each for about 30 minutes then move it to my storage container which holds 3600 ml. I've seen zero issues. Randy referenced Tropic Marin's comments.

Is that the big blue one? I have one of those I use for mixing everything but salt but it may be repurposed. lol.

I’ve mixed calcium formate in different concentrations and at first all of them were crystal clear with no sediment. In couple of weeks some of them became cloudy and a “ribbon” like strings were forming near the bottom or on top. It looked like bacterial blooming to me, for sure wasn’t crystallized formate.

Yea. My all for reef mixes up tea colored.
If not mixed, it goes clear and orange sediment collects at the bottom of the container. This is for the powdered version in 1 can. The previous recipe with carbocalcium, bio-mag, a-, and k+ seemed to mix easier and was tinted blue.
