Joining in the greenbow splice fun. Is that red I see or just brown from being shaded?

Its red, thats how mines started off now it has the red lines. Where did you get your piece from?

TCK about 1 week ago. How pronounced is the red on yours?
Two of the tips just started getting the red lines going down the base, im set to update this thread with a photo sunday but the reds are coming in faster then I thought.

i wouldn’t suggest you do this but i scrapped a little piece off the bottom to trigger growth and I think that triggered the reds, I learned it from this post

I hate the color correction on the S21 but here is one of my green splices that took a dive into an echinata overnight a few weeks ago. I was really hoping it would heal back red but no such luck, it's coming back as green as ever.

Haha, lucky it came back at all. I had a RR angry birds dive into a torch, its was dead by the time the lights came on.

Could be my eyes playing tricks on me or I’m lying to myself, but one of the two splice frags from Lazy looks to be getting red in the base. Terrible pic but the best I could do because of location

Here’s my colony this morning

So here’s my assessment of this acro. You will never get the true red like you see in the middle of this picture unless you start with it. But, just like any other acro that you can “color up”, the splice will color up to show red tinting on the coralites like you see here, all over the branches. I believe that is all the red you will get if you did not start with any true red skin coloration. This colony is about 18 months old and getting huge.

Here’s an update to the Frankenstein frag I cut off about 6 months ago. It’s growing a good amount of true red still.

Almost all healed up...still no red.

So my nutrients bottomed out for a week again and stuff went a little pale, but with my nitrate dosing keeping levels above 10ppm my splice may be turning red. The red is the same as the red on the end coralite.

It dose look like some red splotches in the one picture.
It’s kinda strange. Used to all green but now that’s the colors are coming back it’s getting a lot of red out of no where. I’ll keep updating pictures but it seems possible for red to appear without any prior
