I am looking to set up a permanent QT system that will run all the time and not receive treatments. I will use ttm and a hospital tank for all treatments. This tank will be 100% observation after treatment and ttm.
I am looking to add a false wall in a 20 gallon tank. Water will pass though a weir on false wall, then it will flow down through a media basket that I can put whatever media needed into. (carbon, filterfloss) then the water will pass under a partition and flow up. This side of the false wall will have bio media rings, a 250w heater, a ato float switch, and a maxijet 900 as a pump at the top of the chamber. The maxijet will push the water out through the false wall, back into the tank.
Is there any issue with running an all in one system like this? I like the idea of keeping the heater in a filter area so that fish cant get burned or brush against it. I also like having the ATO in a chamber where less water needs to evaporate to turn it on. I also like having a removable basket for media.
I currently have a 20 gallon with a waterfall filter with ceramic rings in it and a heater in the bottom. No ATO and no way to add carbon or filter floss. I feed heavy in QT to get them eating, and I would like to be able to have filter floss in the tank to remove uneaten food. The pump will be controlled by apex for feed modes
