All in one vs sump

looking to do a tank in the 20 to 30 gallon range. I do not know if I should do an all in one like an innovative marine. Or something with a simp. This will be my main tank. Will also keep some acans and sps.

That size tank you could go either way, an AIO would be easier but to add equipment you would have to be fine with it sticking up out of the back. I had a JBJ 30 and had a hob skimmer and dosers mounted just above the tank. It was in my "man cave" office so I didn't mind the industrialist look. If you want some clean looking go with a sump, that way all your add on equipment would be completely hidden. If I were to do a sump, I'd also consider something a little larger; remember it has to fit in the stand.
