Ok so now that I’ve declared my undying love for tangs to the Yt at the lfs, was wondering which kit would suit its needs best without having me DIY everything. I could get the marineland 125g reef ready tank and build up but I’ve been contemplating the Red Sea reefer 500. I do think it’s too expensive for not even having 6 feet long so wondering if any of you know of a good deal reefing kit with great swimming room? Thanks :)

For full kits these will do well for most of the tangs in the hobby:

Red Sea Reefer XXL 750 $4869 (still needs return pump, skimmer, powerheads)
Red Sea Max s-650 $5799 (everything included)
Water Box 7226 $3799 (needs lights, return pump, skimmer, powerheads)

Compare price to doing a 125g build:
Marineland 125g: $950 (Fish Tanks Direct - pre-shipping cost)
R&J 72" x 18" x 36" stand: $1100 (FTD - pre-shipping)
Skimmer: $280 (Reef Octopus 150SS - economical - there are better skimmers for more $)
Return: $205 (Sicce Silent 5)
Power Heads: $430 (Maxspect Gyre 230 x 2)
Lights: $1050 (AI Hydra 26HD x3)
Plumbing parts: $60 (estimated)

Total as above: $4075

Of course this is build price based on my budget and could be adjusted some. For example, if you prefer/afford Radions add $1400 to still have 3.

Opinions/Notes:
For quality, Red Sea tanks are the best of the three - but it comes with the increased price. This is based off of having first-hand experience with all three tanks.
I also prefer Red Sea stands over Water Box stands if you are looking between those two, the WB stands feel cheap to me.

Disclaimer (read this in that hurried voice at the end of promo/medicine commercials):
Prices based on USD, in US, prices may differ, availability may vary based on location. This in no way is intended to support the above companies. I in no way am affiliated with Red Sea, Water Box, or Bulk Reef Supply (BRS). Having an aquarium may have certain side effects; such as: a feeling of relaxation, moments of squeeling like a little child with glee, and an unusually light wallet or low bank account balance. Use only as directed.

True, I will add a little disclaimer in my reply.
Lol yeah I figured luckily we have local providers and a truck we can borrow if possible to avoid shipping. The WB one is neat love the peninsula look too bad about the stand but we’ll likely only be staring at the tank. I can use some eq I gathered I’ll need help selecting a worthy return pump though.

Thanks a lot seeing how the bill always exceeds the set limit I’ll just likely go for the waterbox set :) If you tried them all your house must be quite something to look at!

I looked at the 125's as well, but they are not very wide so the space under the stand will be even less so (if you use a stabd the size of the tank).

Most sumps will not fit in that space unless you make one from an aquarium.

So then I looked at the 120, which is 4'x2'x2' and it had the width, but not the length. So I settled on the 180, which has both.

Marineland also offers a higher end stand and canopy (I just got the stand) with removable side panels and plywood top. It's called the Monterey series.

And a 120 gallon is not for as many “tangs” a you would think

I aim for a yellow a hippo and a magnificient foxface living peacefully together. I just looked at the innovative marine Nuvo 120 it looks decent also. Less plumbing & very stylish hmmm

Yup I prefer these all in one types to keep the noise and plumbing to a minimum. Allows me to use what I already have from a sump-less system. Anymore suggestions on what brands to look into for that type of setup? Like the Nuvo sr 120 but easier to get in Canada maybe? Thanks :)
