Ok I'm at a loss with these corals.
I have tried Two torch, a frogspawn and a hammer. I have bought them from different LFS. Every single one I Put in the tank does good for a few days then slowly have closed up to almost nothing at all. I lost both torches completely I'm about to lose the hammer and the frog right now. They are both closing up. I have tried different flow, I had two fluval led. I have a razor now. Still no changes. I have checked all my parameters they have all been ok.
I do 5 gallon water changes a week on a 72 gallon tank. All my other corals are doing well. Has anyone ever had such a problem with these things?

I have two clowns two gobies is all right now. Hermits, snails peppermint shrimp and a cleaner.

Ph 8.1
Ammonia 0
Nitrates. 10
Nitrites. 0
Calcium. 420
Alk 196.
Salinity is 1.24.

What are your other corals that are doing well? Are you acclimating to your lights?

I have zoa, a Duncan frag, some Xenia. And mushrooms.
I just set up the Razor. I thought that it was the lighting maybe but even now with the razor they are going south. I am running 40% at peak right now. And I'm turning up 1% a day as of right now

I have never had luck with Torches but for me Frogspawn and Hammer are "Bullet Proof" I have never lost any.

They are the easiest Coral to keep in my Opinion.

I have had them in High Light, Low Light, High Flow, and Low Flow and they always Thrive.

Did they get Brown Jelly Disease?

I haven't noticed any. They just close up to the point of almost nothin. It's crazy. I can't figure it.
I mean I have tried diff flow options. I have tried diff light now. I've moved them around. I really wanted the frogspawn to survive. But not sure it's going to make it either.

Do you have someone close that you can verify you parameters with different test kits? Are you using a refractometer for salinity and is it calibrated?

I am using a refractometer. But I like ur thinking about calibration. I will get some fluid and check it. The LFS near by uses API also. Maybe I'll order new kits

I had things start looking bad and realized I hadn't calibrated mine in several months. After calibrating I found out I was up to 1.030.. It happens. Now I check my calibration every couple weeks.

Torch, frog and hammer really are pretty forgiving in my experience.

Thanks for the advise I will definitely get that situation looked at.

IMO torches are very picky. You really have to study them a lot, it's best to move them as little as possible but I understand you don't know exactly what to look for. But they will "tell" you when they are happy it just takes a lot of observing and patience I knew nothing about torches about a year ago and now they thrive in my tank. Do as much researching online as you can and try stuff till it works

API are not very reliable IMO. But they would not be that far off. Your numbers are OK but you do not have phosphates or magnesium. The magnesium, alk and calcium work together. I do not think either those would be the issue. They would need more than a few days to effect the coral.

How are you acclimating them? Some euphyllia are more hardy than others. But it seems you had them all and guessing all were the branching type. To be that fast it is something in water. Light does effect but if too low or high it would take longer than a few days.
