So typically my water change water is close t tank alk, may rise .1 or .2.

two ago I did a bigger water change than I’d normally do, and with a different box (same brand/type : instant ocean regular) and a few hours after change my alk, which is normally 7.6 , tested at 8.6. Fussing the water I made was closer to 10 than 8.5 it usually is.

should this be of concern ? I know going forward to check all batches of water change water, but for what already happened should I expect some type of fall out?

Thanks

You might experience the loss of some frags but it could go either way. It should still be in the safe range for corals but the jump might shock them. I’m not a expert but from what I’ve heard it should be ok and maybe you should try and do a water change with a little bit lower alk to try and lower it some. Maybe like a 15% water change.
