Hey everyone,

Finally a Friday, and we can't believe it's here! It's been incredibly busy here, and a lot of fun! There is an amazing energy in our facility that is a direct result of the high level of support you've given us, and we can't thank you enough!

It's been a great week at Unique Corals, with a bunch of website enhancements to make your shopping experience better and better. On our website, you might have noticed that we took your advice, and added a couple of new sections: "ACANS" and "MONTIPORA". Now, you'll have tabs on our home page with instant access to some of our most popular corals. With dozens of each to choose from, it made sense to give each of these their own tab! We hope that these small enhancements make your shopping experience that much easier!

On the coral front, this week heralded the release of a bunch of new varieties, including the beautiful new "UC Superfreak" Acan. It's our most stunning Acan release yet, and these frags are flying out quickly! The photos that we have taken simply don't do this coral any justice! It's stunningly bright!

Like all of our Acans, the mother colonies and their frags are being maintained under Kessil A350W LED's, with the intensity dialed down significantly. Our systems have strong, indirect flow, slightly cooler water temperatures (approx. 76 degrees F), and our Acans are fed frequently. We wait until they're good and healed from our imposed propagation process, which is why you're seeing releases that are almost painfully slow so far! Mother Nature knows when her frags are ready, and we're not "hacking, gluing and shipping" them, so the result is that you'll see each new release when it's good and ready! And we think that the Acans we have coming will be well worth the wait!

We've also been busy on the Chalice front, with several releases taking place this week! We have a bunch more, which will be released over the coming weeks. Again, Nature will dictate the pace of the release, not marketing hype! These are some really premium varieties, many hand selected at the source by Joe on his recent So Pac trip, so we're not at the mercy of others to choose what varieties we're working with! The mother colonies have been carefully acclimated and grown out even before we began fragging them, and of course, the readiness of the corals themselves will indicate when they are ready for release.

The very latest (and arguably the most exciting to us) is the Oxypora sp. "Red Velvet Chalice". It's a really unusual-looking coral, with a (you guessed it) velvety appearance and rich red color. It's a beautiful contrast from the more frequently-seen varieties, and, because, like our other many Chalice varieties, we're able to frag and heal this coral while keeping a solid Mother Colony, we'll have this as a "stock item" indefinitely! Propagating instead of "chopping" for a quick profit translates into consistent high quality and lower pricing for you!

Another beautiful Chalice that we simply have not been able to convey the beauty of photographically is the "UC Raging Waters Chalice", which features a stunning contrast of colors. The blue on this coral literally glows, especially under LED, but doesn't quite get conveyed by the photographic process. It's propagated from a maricultured mother colony, which is always exciting to us! Trust us, this one is amazing! Customers who have purchased this coral so far call it one of the most underrated Chalices they've seen!

Our superstar propagators have been working hard, too, releasing more and more new exclusive UC varieties for your enjoyment!

Dan Rigle has offered up his "Green Planet" Acropora, and it's becoming a smash hit!

It's a "legacy coral" that Dan has worked with for some time, and the quality of his frags is outstanding. They do exceedingly well for our customers, because they are carefully cut, healed, and grown out for a long time before we even receive them. Your assured of corals that are basically "loved" by one of the most passionate and talented propagators in the country! And Dan has offered some other pieces as UC "Stock Items", such as the wildly popular "Shades of Fall" Aropora nasuta:

On the other side of the nation, legendary uber-reefer Mark Poletti has been offering up his cool stuff from his collection, including the "Pink Cadillac" Montipora, and the Tyree Sunset Montipora:

And, as we've talked about before, our own "farm" is yielding more and more varieties of propagated corals for you to choose from, including more Acros, Chalices, Favia, Goniopora, Montipora, Zoas, Palys, Polyps, soft corals, and more, assuring you of continuous availability, consistency, and great pricing!

We're very excited about the Fall! Summer is traditionally a slower time for our industry, with everyone kind of kicking back and waiting for the Fall rush to start anew...but not this year! It's been nuts! We've been powering on right through, releasing more new stuff, keeping our farm cranking, and improving all levels of our operation! The good news? When Fall rolls around, look for MORE of EVERYTHING! More new coral releases (you won't believe what we've been growing this Summer!), website enhancements, dry goods, fish, and other cool stuff that's gonna blow you away.

And, of course, our focus on YOU and improving customer service and your customer experience will always be number one on our list. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have a suggestion as to how to improve our service, offerings, and customer experience...We're still no where close to where we think we can be as a company, and it's just getting started! Lots and lots of improvements to make.

Oh, and watch for a few surprises in upcoming weeks!!!!

Thanks so much for your support!

See you at MACNA 2013!

Regards,

Scott Fellman and Joseph Caparatta
