There are so many names and multi hundred dollar frags from all these vendors and sales. However, theres rarely pics of the mother colonies. @tkc @WWC @CherryCorals @uniquecorals @AquaSD . Can we please have vendors attach mother colony pics to all frag pics. If not, why?

Then the buyer would see that the colony is most often not as colorful as the fragment. The tips are where you can see most of the colors and the colony pic often won’t sell a coral as well as a macro shot of a tip that’s been glued to a plug and put under strong light for a bit. That would probably hurt sales is why they don’t do it. Plus it’s a lot more work. But I agree it would be really nice to see.

Plus it's sad to see a "colony" that has been mutilated to sell tips of half inch or so.

They could take the colony shot pre cut. And, I assume your correct, the tips or frags dont represent the colony, which is my concern. Why aren't reefers more adamant with this?

With a few of the new insanely priced ones ones out there, its hard to tell the frag from the Mother Colony.

Agree. Will try! Sometimes the large colony is no more. But where available, yes it should be included, and we'll try to do so. Thanks for the suggestion.

Only vendors I've seen that have colony pics on their site is Battlecorals, TSA, LRO, JFox and Fraghouse Corals.

Good luck finding colony pictures of corals. As some have mentioned some people do it while others don't. I find it hilarious that some sellers do not even have nice systems for their own enjoyment, it is strictly business. I tend not to buy from people like that in the hobby. Granted everyone has their right to do as they please, just as I have the right to not support their chop shops and poor business practices.

Another thing I dislike about mother colony pictures is when no one updates them. Don’t use a 10 year old photo of a coral that used to be beautiful when the coral has morphed a lot or just never colored up right.
