I am wanting to know if I should consider placing a media reactor in my sump or will it be enough to use chemi-pure blue in the return pump section... thoughts on which way I should go, does it matter?

That really depends on your bio-load, feeding habits, etc. IMO, I would start with just chemipure. As you add livestock, you will see what you need through testing. Also, some people just use the media bags, which can be just as effective depending on your setup.

GFO needs to tumble to be most effective. I would install a reactor or 2, whether yku use them now or later or not at all. You can T off your return with a valve to control flow. Then u can run carbon and GFO seperately of at all.

Chemipure blue is carbon right? Why do you want to run it? It would be fine in a media bag but even more effective in a reactor. Plus with a reactor you can always use it for gfo down the road if needed.
