Ok so, apparently I am really bad at reading labels. Did a Mag test found that I was low and had to add a little over 1 liter of solution (BRS 2 part mag). I thought the bottle was a liter jug, turns out it was a gallon jug. It was about 3/4 full of solution. Since it was a lot of liquid I decided to add it to my ATO instead of straight in the tank. Well now I almost dosed 3 times the amount of magnesium needed.
I am currently making more RO/DI water for my ATO to replace my problem.

My question is, what if I over dosed directly to my tank? Would it kill everything if I raised it too high too fast? Or would they just be very mad at me?

Probably going to be fine, I have seen Mags as high as 1800. First affected are snails so check on them. I would not loose sleep over it. Mag values would be of assist though. :-)

How low was too low to begin with?

I had a full sps tank for years and never needed to add a drop of magnesium.

It's important but the least important of the big 3 IMO, (alkalinity is king and calcium is queen).

Water changes with a good salt can usually handle mag replacement easily.

No problem... while mag disappears take the opportunity to read some Randy Holmes-Farley articles.

How high is it now?

There's probably nothing you should do now. I don't think magnesium changes are a concern, but the salinity rise or impurities in the magnesium supplement might be.
