I've been reading up on CO2 levels and how to calculate them in water. I'll take new ph and alk readings when I get home. PH was 7.4 before which i know is considered pretty low
Wheres your do you have your tank set up?

In the far corner of our living room but sump is in the basement. Sump is almost 50' from the water heater and furnace

I wonder if your ph is low because of low air movement and higher co2 in the basement.

When Big G mentioned CO2 it got me thinking about it more so I started researching. Thank you for continuing to think on this!

No I don't. I read about doing that or adding a CO2 scrubber to the intake. Was trying to figure out a way to get a line outside without the wife noticing lol

I have to run my skimmer line outside the house due to my pH being low. It is easy to test if that would work or a carbon scrubber as an option.
I am sorry to hear about the fish. Sounds like you have the toxin thing negated, the salt should not have done harm in that size system (unless poured directly on the fish - I accidentally did this with h2o2 and killed three fish [I was aiming at hair algae]).
Voltage no issue, check for metal toxicity from a pump or something in sump. Once a wrench was found in the sump of our public aquarium after it killed almost an entire reef system.
Good luck. I hope you find some answer.

Why not run it to the upstairs following the same line as your plumbing

Not sure if any of these have been mentioned but a couple ideas.

When was the last time you calibrated your refractometer? Have you ever tested water of live stock? For example, I ask my guy what the SG is every tine I buy something from him. I still test it when I get home but it’s always in line with my refractometer. I’m sure you have thought of all this, just trying any angle I can think of.
What about your other test kits? Are any of them expired?
Have you taken a water sample to a LFS? I’d do that ASAP. If still nothing out of the ordinary maybe send out a sample

Wife said there wasnt any outside spraying in the fields and it didnt smell like it lol.

Refractometer was a $60ish one from I believe Premium Aquatics. I havent taken any water samples anywhere.

Just measured all at 7.603 and ph at 7.4 so I'm going to find a calculator for CO2 hopefully

I know you said positive about it being salt that was added. Do you have buckets of ALK, CAL, Mg, etc? Maybe an old salt bucket with something else in it?

I dont have any dosing materials in the house yet. As for salt, I ordered about 800 gallons worth this last December and its Instant Ocean

Sounds like your tank is still new. Did you check for ammonia? I had a tank crash, and my ammonia skyrocketed quickly.

Yes I checked it right away when I got home and noticed the fish were I'm distress. The tank is 6 months old

I just have the api kit and it was 0 along with the seachem ammonia alert badge that was bright yellow. The kit has been spot on so far as I had a little ammonia in my QT once and it matched the level of my badge. Honestly I wish it were something like that as this not knowing is bothersome
