He got buried in the sand where it was bleached out. I didn’t notice it until when I was cleaning my tank today. Pulled him out and put him on the frag holderThere's definitely hope, all of the non white stuff is alive.
I'd recommend cutting the dead part/live part and gluing it elsewhere. It would be better for someone else to weigh in on this though.
Bleached base is usually a problem with phosphates, what are your parameters?
. I just did a water change.I’m not sure how to do this. What do I need? I’ve only been in this for about a year and 2 monthsI’d cut it above the white and re frag it. It might grow back over the white but it might not.
I think I feel better just leaving it alone than cutting it. I need some experience doing thisI would just leave it. IME the bleached/dead area is the same as a rock, so after loss from cutting and loss from gluing you end up doing more harm than good by cutting it away.
Maybe cover the white area with glue, wider than the radius of the frag in order to give the coral something to encrust overI think I feel better just leaving it alone than cutting it. I need some experience doing this
Good point. Just leave it. There’s a good chance it’ll grow back over the white areas.I would just leave it. IME the bleached/dead area is the same as a rock, so after loss from cutting and loss from gluing you end up doing more harm than good by cutting it away.
