After 16 years in the reefing hobby I still find myself spending many hours paying attention to my baby (The Reef[emoji6]). Usually every day I do up to 7 or 8 things that affect or sustain my system.

How many things do you do a day to your system? And what are they?

I just add phytoplankton, and water changes. But stare at my tanks. Especially the new one, even though it's a one gallon, I'm just waiting for these zoas to multiply....As if it's gonna happen in the blink of an eye lol

Lol....yeah I hear ya....I swear sometimes I can see my shrooms split right before my eyes.....[emoji6]

Haha one time I did witness that, those two on the left:D

Today upon taking a tight left turn, the five gallons of change water I had carting back from the lfs secretly tipped over in the rear of my tiny versa. Literally sloshed like water two inches deep up under the gas pedal, while driving,

And under my seats, fosgate amps. I didn't hear the entire five gallons literally tipped upside down due to the fosgates, but that's now a problem no more. The only thing more conductive than .o23 would be pure molten solder ran across every ic board

we get to take the whole car interior apart to dry corrosion juice
fun, rather be reefing

Ouch. I'm sorry

Thanks man that w be referred to as one shot learning
I will bungee tie the water bottles so well from now on some drifting won't dislodge them
got lucky it's cool time of year not a high mildew risk until dry just trying to reinforce the good heh

I did lots of maintenance today. Full suite of tests, cleaned the glass, laundered the filter socks, cleaned protein skimmer, soaked the gyre in vinegar and cleaned it, cleaned and calibrated all the Apex probes, changed the carbon and phosban, moved some corals from QT to DT.

As far as shopping for the tank, I have been looking real hard at calcium reactors. I still have lots of problems keeping Ca & Alk where I want it and my SPS are not too happy about that. Looking at a Bubble Magus or Reef Octopus. Anyone have any experience with either brand of CaRX?

I am actually in the process of setting up a remote sump to house all of my equipment, its something I have been meaning to do for the longest but always pushed it off....I did it a while back but ofcourse did it wrong.... unfortunately been at it all day since I am far from being a DIY master...too much thought went into this thing today between all the measuring, cutting n glueing....now I'm fried
