Tough to see, but this is likely stringy feces. Unusual to see in long term captive fish. Causes are varied; diet change causing mucus production, bacterial infection or protozoan infection.
Does the fish show any other symptoms?
Jay

Also to add, if you are feeding mysis shrimp, brine shrimp or both, It tends to mimic internal issues when fish poops

I recently started feeding a additional algae based pellet for my tangs. This is an otherwise healthy fish, only asking because it is recent and abnormal. A quick google search told me its likely a protozoan infection. But I figured I should ask before doing anything. Thank you @Jay Hemdal for always helping us with our weird fish questions.

Neither of these are being fed. I do believe I have brine shrimp living and reproducing in my system though, along with many other small critters that I'm sure the clownfish munch on.

Live brine wont do this.
