So since my Carx is far larger than I need at this point yet I'd still like to use it on the system for simplicity's sake I decided to tune it via the alternate method of tuning via the carx ph. While this seems like the best setup for me since I can now cut down my effluent rate to 25ml a sec yet still control the melting points of the media, I thought that there may be a balance issue with this method if I have reborn and remag in the carx, problem may be that one melts at a higher pH than the other and then I'm causing another issue in the tank.

Randy, any idea if tuning via carx ph with both minerals in the carxs is an issue if following the alternate method? Currently sitting at the 7.3 internal mark but if one is melting and not the other at the desired rate eventually I'll be way off on one or the other.

I think the relative amount of the two dissolving probably is relatively fixed and both vary together as you adjust things since both are controlled solely by the concentration of carbonate in the water.

By the way, avoid the word melting. There’s no melting. Dissolving, and maybe disintegrating, but never melting.

aha... thanks Randy. The idea sounded perfect for my situation as I put it online earlier than necessary but wanted to create some stability in a new tank.

melting was just less to type ;)

Thanks again Randy, on with the show.
