Just took out from my fish room a Reef Octopus SRO 1000 int. Unfortunately the impeller is stuck in the pump. Put vinegar in the pump to try to loosed the impeller or dissolve the corrosion. If I cannot remove it I will need a new pump. However I do not want to get another bubble blaster pump. Am looking for alternatives. Any suggestions.

If you contact CoralVue they can recommend a VarioS pump to replace it. I would guess a VarioS-6 but they would know more. You should be able to connect it right to the old union and upgrade to the new pump easily.

Yes, get a true venturi skimer that can use ANY water pump, your venturi skimmer will last a lifetime! If you got a Lifereef venturi skimmer 30 years ago it still works today, and Lifereef will make you any part that you break and will repair any severely damaged skimmer too, like if you drop it. No maintenance except to empty the cup.

I would get a Varios ..
I get that there is loyalty in Lifereef and appreciate that. I simply don't get that people are not really forward about the energy use. I mean I Love skimmers (like Bedkett and down draft) but in this day and age not really practical with energy and heat exchange.
