Hi, I'm unable to located Fergon tablets for a DIY Iron supplement so I came across something I hope will work as well and wondering if I can get confirmation before I start dosing.

Heres what I found:

I wouldn't like to use that but it probably wouldn't kill anything in your tank. Where are you located? There are lots of irons out there. Pharmacies usually have good iron pills if you ask.

thanks for the reply Cory, I'm in the GTA. I didn't realize there were other options behind the counter that I could get by asking. I'll check that out.

I also have access to ferrous sulfate heptahydrate (use it for my lawn) to make Randys original diy Iron supplement. problem is, I can't get a hold of sodium citrate dihydrate. any idea if I could use citric acid in place of sodium citrate dihydrate?

Im not sure if you can use that, Randy would know but doesn't post on weekends. I made this too and dose it, im from Alberta. I had to buy the sodium citrate from amazon. Fwiw Randy recommends iron gluconate now which is a pill and wont require anything other than mixing it in water.
