Is there a reason you don't want to use fresh water? It is economical, effective and much less stressful to the fish than many other dips.
A freshwater dip can also give you an indicator of further treatment is indeed necessary
A 90 minute prazi bath would be the most effective IMO.Would a Meth Blue dip dislodge Flukes? Anything else I can do instead of a freshwater dip?
I’ve not had good luck with it. The fish in particular was freshwater dipped over a week ago and went belly up after 2 min. So no Flukes fell off but I see what I believe is a fluke on him and I need to get it off. I matched ph and temp and it didn’t go well.

Is there a particular reason you don’t want to do a FW dip?
Do hyposalinity then... itll knock flukes off.. and not be as harsh as plain fresh water.
Put the fish in 1.008 to 1.012 and see if that helps eith the flukes.
What fish are we talking about here though ? Some fish csnt hsndle fw dips or hypo... anthias. Wrasse.. some angelfish snd some butterflies will not handle either.
While other fish like tangs and foxfaces and damsels snd so forth ive done fw dips for 10 minutes and they didnt even act weird
When you say "belly up", what do you mean? I would've assumed it meant he died (that's how I've always heard the term "belly up" used), but that's obviously not what you're saying happened. Just trying to get an idea of what behavior you're seeing.
He probly cant handle fresh water the .. i never did hypo on a royal gramma.. but hypo would ve less invasive over pure fresh water..
What makes you think he has flukes ?
