I’m looking to add 1 or 2 24” ReefBrite style light bars to my cube. I’m getting good color and growth out of my SPS, but with my kessils I’m lacking a little par in some areas. Adding 1 or 2 of the light bars would greatly help this as well as give me better coverage. My question is this, what other options to ReefBrites are there? I know SB Reef has their new sBars out which are dimmable and frankly look awesome especially with the combo of blue & UV. However their customer service or moreso lack there of terrifies me. Then I was looking at the ReefBreeders LumenBars but it doesn’t seem like any of there options have an Actinic/royal blue & Uv spectrum color combo. Are there any other options out there? Anyone have experience with the sBar or LumenBars they’d care to share? Few pics of my tank and some of my nicer SPS attached.

I have tried several varieties and reefbrites I like the best but their are alternatives.

I am ordering a few of these to try: they have a new blue plus just launching that has both UV and pop. Just what you are looking for:

I have tried and they are pretty good:

I have tried these and they are junk

Yes a friend of mine runs the orpheks and loves them. So it’s looking like the ones I mentioned are the only other options. I wish I knew if any of them can be controlled via apex.

Issue is I don’t want any white. My T5’s take care of that.

Sorry I changed the post above. I cut and pasted the wrong chart.
I put the right one up...

Reefbreeder dips a little more into the UV side than Orphek but the Orphek has a much wider spectrum with more blue..

I like that spectrum a lot more than the one originally posted. I couldn’t find a spectrum graph or anything for the ReefBreeder light.

Yea this is all they say:

HO (High Octane) UV– Mix of 420nm and 405nm violet, and 380nm UV- guaranteed to make your SPS corals happy

Royal Ice– 50/50 480nm Cool Blue and 450nm Royal Blue- perfect for adding some color POP

Basically It looks like Orphek combined the two into one fixture so you are getting some UV and pop.... With Reef breeders You would have to do custom..
Reef breeders goes down to 380 nm for UV and Orphek goes down to 410.
Anything about 400 really is just violet light.

I’m not finding the blue plus OR60 on their site?

I just received my second Orphek OR2 Blue Plus and absolutely love them. I like having a different spectrum other than the blues that the Reefbrites have.

What main lights are you running? My biggest concern is that the spectrum will be wayy different than my Kessil and will just make the tank look weird.

I definitely like the look. I just found out the can’t be controlled by apex though which is a bummer. I’d really like to have one that can be dimmed via apex so that it ramps up/down with my kessils rather than just be on or off like my T5’s.

In my search for lights for my tank build I called Unique Corals for info on Illumagic Blaze X. They said Illumagic was coming out with something similar to reefbrites. I haven’t been able to find any info on them tho. Doubt they are apex ready. Unique Corals will know more. I was going to call them today but figured they would be busy with Reefapalooza. I will call mid week.

This is something I’m looking to add/order this weekend or early next week so if the light isn’t available yet it probably won’t be an option. I’m learning the SB Reef sBar can be “hacked” and controlled via the 0-10v apex. The ReefBreeders could be as well but requires an additional power supply for an additional cost. I like the Orphek as well, but being the new version & not dimmable I think I’ll stay away for now.
