ALTERNATIVES to RO/DI?

Zeolite works in Saltwater? I thought you used Seawater to recharge it .... I could be wrong , just a passing thought
BTW Purigen might be worth it as its rechargeable
They sell saltwater versions. It’s the entire basis of the zeovit system.

Would also get a test kit for copper. If there is any in the water those solutions won't help and as you evaporate water you will just get higher and higher levels. Copper will kill corals .

Not sure what’s going on here with the splitting costs thing but if you want it, buy it.
It doesn't make sense to me either. If they are penny pinching over not letting you even spend your own money for 65C distilled water on an as needed basis (<5 gallons/$3 a week for a 32G) then there's no way the tank is at your place where they can't see it 24/7. Are you roommates?

This sounds like one of two things but he won't say it.:

1. "I don't want to buy an RODI system so don't even try to convince me otherwise, I want alternatives."

2. "My significant other won't let me buy an RODI system because they don't believe the difference in tap water is that bad"
