I currently run a bare bottom biocube 32.

I don’t like how detritus and fish poop collect at the bottom. I’ve had power heads at the bottom which helps but I hate the look of them down there.

what’s an alternative that I can add to an already established tank? Looking for something to just barely cover the bottom. Can’t use sand because it’s already filled with water and livestock

I’ve added sand to existing tank with no problems. Just a little cloudy water. I’ve seen people use calcium rector media as substrate. I thought it looked all right.
