Hi there,

Just a quick question..
Bought a 32" reacher / grabber tool to be used on the tank. Realized that the pole on the tool is made of aluminum. Cable in the grabber should be a steel wire.

After reading all the negatives on having Aluminium with all there ICP water testing, do you think that there would be any adverse effect if i use this grabber in the tank?
I won't be soaking it in or to leave it on top of the tank dripping salt water back. It is more like a few minutes every few days for maintenance work.

Thank man.

I dont think it is a problem. I have a snake grabber that I use in my tank when its not being used to grab a snake out of the chicken coop .
I have never seen one that does not have some sort of metal. Mine is all aluminum with steel wire. Im sure the steel will rust someday. But its in the water for only short periods of time it should last a while.

I expect it is OK for brief exposures (as long as it has no brass or copper), then rinse it off after use so the salt water doesn't keep corroding it while out of the tank.
