Hey reefers,

I just got an Alveopora today and found a lot of flatworms during dipping ( 5 -10 minutes with coral rx pro ).

I counted at least 15 of this little monsters and I'm not 100% sure that I got them all. I think that I see something redish (maybe fw.) on the frag when looking at it in the tank but I'm not sure.

I removed most of the base the coral was glued on but not all of it. Then I cleaned the remaining base with a tooth brush (didn't see any eggs).

So here are my questions:

- What type of flatworm is this?
- Is it ok to dip the frag a second time tomorrow? I don't want to dip it twice on the same day.
- Could a flatworm (not the eggs) still bi alive on the coral after the dip?
- What should I do next?

I don't have any wrasses so they can't help.

What do you guys think? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Looks like acro eating flatworm
Dip will generally knock them down and important to siphon as many as you can before and after dipping
Lunare and melanurus wrasse will eat them as will blue velvet nudibranch.
Keep eyes out for eggs as they will eat coral upon hatching

Thanks for the replies, just checked the redish patch on the frag ant it looks like there is no worm on the frag anymore (fingers crossed). Also double checked for eggs and didn't see anything.

Any advice about how often/frequently I can/should dip the frag?

Should I just observe if I see new worms and dip/syphon each time I see some and do nothing in between? Or can I dip tomorrow and maybe one more time in 3 days or so?

I'm a little bit worried getting a wrasse because I have a spotted mandarin and I'm afraid the wrasse will take away the mandarins food in the tank.

They eat two different diets although wrasse love pods too
