Piling on, since this is an excellent reminder for everyone - regardless of how much or little experience we have.
Keep your outlets and plugs clear from any area where water can land. Inspect your electrical connections routinely, and ask yourself "what is the worst that can happen?". For example, if you have a flood, or a pump connection comes loose and shoots water, can it get to those outlets? What about salt creep? Sometimes that can travel some distance and then cause a short circuit. Another great idea is to use GFI outlets for any equipment near or in water - so you can avoid getting electrocuted. It may save a life!
