I have an old solaris light fixture with one bad power supply. "I know, shocker huh"

Anyways that's all happened a long time ago and I have radions now and the solaris sits in my garage collecting dust.

So here's my dilemma.
1. Mod a new power supply and have a 48" working Solaris that I have no use for.

2. I take the two working banks and cut the housing to make a 26" unit that I can put over my 30g tank that's eventually be my frag tank. :) and the remaining two banks I can use for extra lights when they burn out...

I just remember it not being cheap and kinda scared to cut it up... ;p

I would say cut it up and place on frag tank.

"Led guru" what are your thoughts on down the road being able to use the software on this thing to control a dyi led setup once I'm out of usable lights? ??

I was hoping for more feedback... oh well I guess I'm cutting it up as a loss and get some kinda use out of it...

Yes Do that. A great Idea. It is good to have spare parts. As I had a spare Coral-Vue 660 VHO Ballast of which came in handy Friday when an Older version (Ice Cap 660) Took a Dump after many years. When it comes to Electronic Ballasts for Fluorescent lighting these Are the BEST bar None. Oh Yah, they are repairable not throw aways. have fun and good luck on your project.
