So I am currently in the process of setting up a 40 breeder as a display tank with a 29 sump. I am building a cabinet to go around the metal stand and hide the sump and other equipment. I already have 2 tanks in one side of the cabinet, a 5g and a 10g, for coral and fish QT. Would it be crazy/difficult to put a 10 on the other side of the cabinet and plumb it into the sump for a coral growout tank? Or is this something people are already doing? If this is possible/normal how would I go about doing this, tee'ed off the main return pump or would it have its own return pump? my guess would be that a separate pump would make maintenance a lot easier but I'd would like to hear from people that have done something like this first.

It might work however the quarentnee tanks should be 2m from each other and the display due to aerosol transmission if you don't want any cross contamination.
With the space freed up by the two quarantine tanks you could easily fit the 10 grow out tank in, maybe even a 15 or 20. return pump settings could be ether, some people have plumbed both together so its just like another sump.

I’m plumbing a 10g into my tank right now so not crazy at all. I’d move those QT tanks though. They shouldn’t be right next to your tank.
