Thanks guys. That's my thoughts now can I just add straight to an existing system. Or do a water change to lower nitrates first then add to my existing system........................... I was cycling this in a container. To add to my system .

I would try to do a couple water changes with the existing tanks water to get nitrate down first, were you just cycling some rocks?

Yes just cycling some rocks to add to my existing system. As wanted to add them as live rock

I would also look into trusted test kits like red sea, salifert, and hanna checkers, if you are just using the api

I do use salifert. For phosphates. Calcium. Magnesium. Alkalinity.. And I no haw much people don't like api. But thourt thay are more than acceptable for this purpose.

wow, its good. what about phosphate? is it in normal range? i have 1 month tank, ammonia is zero, nitrate 10ppm, but phosphate 1ppm. so high phosphate, now using macroalgae to decrease phosphate level, hope it doing well.o_Oo_Oo_O

good just had to make sure ;). i used api at a time too and learned to hate their nitrate tests

Tested this morning. What's your thourts people.only thing is on the camera it looks darker than it actually is to me it looks like 0.03

So do I still have to do a water change to lower the nitrates. Or can I just transfer the rock from the tub to the existing display tank.
Put them into your desired location. Most folks wouldn’t even bother cycling them in the first place, hats off to you :)

Cheers guys. Gotta start to do a new scape now. As don't wanna just throw it in. Lol

Download the app "Aquarium Note" and go to "tools" then "color". You place the "A" marker on one of the color tiles, the "B" marker on your liquid, and the "C" marker on the adjacent color tile and it will tell you which one it is. Very helpful for in between readings if you want more accuracy. Taking a picture in diffuse sunlight helps.

I don't know if this method is even accurate or not but thank you for the tip. Seems like a killer tool for someone (me) who is terrible with colors.
