So here is my plans for a tank. A 12 gallon nanocube. I want to take the canopy off of it and hang my own lights. I need to get my dry rock really clean so I know there wont be algal spores. I am soaking my equipment in vinegar and rinsing them really good with RO water. I have all the powerheads I could ever need for a 12 g. lol. So no problem there. I will use an aragonite substrate, rinsed with some RO water. I don't know if the nanocubes come with filtration but I have some if needed. I want to set it up with my RO water, reef crystal salt, and my base rock. Use some established water/sand from another reef and add some Dr. Tims. Then add some mysis shrimp, then some parts of my CUC. Maybe a couple snails. Then when I have a decent cycle, I will add some corals. Eventually I'll add my fish.

Sounds like a good plan! I have a 12g nano too. I have Seachem purigen and dr p's nitrate remover in my sump and they really help. Good luck!
