My clownfish have obviously nested in the corner of my tank. I figured something was up when I fed brine shrimp earlier and neither would leave the corner for all the yummies flying around. I just walked by and found them swimming sideways poking at something in the corner of the tank found these.

Eggs? Am I about to be a Grammy?

What do I do?!?!? TIA!

Just leave the eggs. They won't hatch in a standard reef tank. The clean up crew will get rid of the eggs. The clowns will probably lay more in the future. I had a pair that laid eggs all the time. I just left them and the ecosystem took care of them. As far as trying to hatch them, that's a different task.

Congrats, this means your clowns are healthy and you are providing a good environment. Unfortunately the eggs will not survive, any fries that hatch will also not survive in a standard reef. Most likely will be eaten by the CUC and other fish.

Raising clowns require a special setup and special feeding.

I have mixed reefs and mine did hatch. Problem is- Fry got eaten. Now that you have a pair- enter in the area a clay flower part. Have a tank set up like a quarantine tank. When they lay eggs in pot, transfer to that tank for a higher chance of survival/hatch rate

Am I a bad Gramma because I don't want babies? It's cool they laid eggs. I'll take that "providing a good environment" compliment. I don't need more fish and I figured, as fast as I've seen them go after the random copepod, any fry wouldn't stand a chance. Our house is under construction... stalled construction... I have no room for a breeding tank, so this wasn't in the plans!

I just glad those weren't some new infectious growth this noob hadn't read about yet!
