So I just started this frag tank about a month ish ago and have finally gotten a blasto in it and some zoas in it. The blasto was doing great until I noticed an emerald crab climbing on top, so I removed the crab to the sump. I then noticed the peppermint shrimp started to climb and perch ontop of the blasto. Essentially i can see half the skeleton ish. Is this happen to others or am I missing something? What’s the likely hood it recovers? My zoa is fine but the blasto is rough. My parameters are phos 0.05, ph 8.2, salinity 1.25, alk 8.9. Thank you for any help.

regards,
Keith

I moved everything except the snails and hermits into the sump, hopefully that will help. I’m glad it’s not just me and my poor mistakes

My cleaner shrimp was all over a blasto I got last week the first couple of hours, but it does that to all the frags I bring in. Not too long after, it went back to it's usual crevice to hang out.

My peppermint shrimp ate my micromussa and a head of a aussie torch. Keep an eye on that guy to make sure its not eating your blasto.
I want to try peppermint shrimp for my aptaisa but I have some micromussas that I value very highly and would devastated if they died. Did he completely destroy the coral?

My macromussa was a goner. My aussie torch is fighting. I was able to catch one of my peppermint and moved him to the sump. The other peppermint keeps eluding my bottle trap.

Not all peppermint shrimp eat coral... So I'd keep an eye on your coral to make sure it doesn't become an expensive meal.

Well it’s like 95% back but seems more relaxed. Still seems a bit dull in color, hopefully it will come back. I moved it to lower light and flow.

Update: not sure what to do now
So I’ve noticed these little fan things on the rock that withdraw when I approach them. Are these hydroids?
