So I saw some clams at my lfs today. It's so rare they get them. I was wondering what you guys think, is this clam worth 79 bucks?
It's a better price than i get at my LFS for a similar size.

Thank-you. Who knew they were so pricey for a 2-3 inch clam. I've been told they are maxima clams. So my few month old tank with fish and a few lps corals should be able to handle them right?

If you have the money to burn, then give it a try. Watch your parameters closely. Do some research into the care requirements for clams first. If your like me and watch every penny, then I would wait till your tank is a little older and you have the research done. You could always wait for a frag swap in your area. I've gotten a bigger clam than that for just $40 at a swap here. I even had another vender at the same swap offer me $60 for that same clam. lol

Lol. Nice. I'm Very picky about my money and over research stuff. However I fear these three clams won't last long as they just got them in a few days ago. Do you have yours mounted to a rock work or to the bottom of your reef?

Mine died a few months after i got it. It kept getting knocked over. I had it in the rocks about half way up and about every other day I would find it in the sand upside down. I suspect the snails did it. Like i said. Research, ask questions in the clam part of the forum and give it a shot. I didn't research much or ask questions.
