So i see LOADS of posts can i keep clowns in x gallon tank they hardly move limit what other fish you can have with there aggressiveness and i just find them boring any 1 else that don't have clowns in there tank?

Clowns are awesome fish. If you take some time to watch their behaviour up close (when they aren't glass surfing for food), they have all kinds of interesting interactions. The fact that they also host random things, they are hardy, tank bred, colourful, etc.

Great fish. Crazy to me that someone would find them boring. Doesn't really matter to me that they are common, I am not in this to stand out or be different.

I’ve never had a tank without clowns and never will. I haven’t had aggression issues with my clowns except over a decade ago when I didn’t know better and bought maroon clowns, satan’s spawn! On the other hand I know a lot of people like cardinal and fire fish and they don’t have any appeal to me. I suppose if we all had the same likes, all our tanks would look identical, boring.

clowns remind me of cardinals just swim in 1 place not moving lol

Odd, my clowns must be broken. 60"x18"x24" and they swim all over the place. They aren't so mean to draw blood yet.. but I don't keep maroon or tomato clowns.

I love my clownfish. Clown tang included.
I heard clown tangs are very hard to keep and very mean to other tangs? Is it true? I have all kinds of tangs in my 210 gal and they ate like pigs. Always want to try clown tang but holding back

I have two tanks each with a pair of clowns. They are the most active fish in the tanks.

Out of the 4 clowns, i would say 1 is semi-aggressive. She doesnt like anyone near her nem

I don't have clowns, but it's not that I hate them, in fact I like how they look, it's just that I have sps tank and won't be able to put a ananamie in my high flow tank for them to hand out. Other then then I would buy a pair of clowns

Boring? No. Annoying? Yes.

After my current pair, I don't think I'll get another pair unless I have a much bigger tank. Once established they harrass any new inhabitants, they snuggle their host corals to death (RIP an elegance and a trachy, now I'm dealing with an unhappy scoly), and if they get annoyed while I spot feed corals they will knock the food off of the coral.

I got rid of my clowns when I switched to my new tank. SPS tank now and figured my hands would be in pruning more often that before and didnt want to keep getting bitten. Sometimes they would even take a chunk of skin out.

You could wear thicker gloves if you’re worried about biting. Mine used to swim all over the tank and ride the currents.

Now the female maybe uses 1/4 of the tank and the male 1/100th. They do venture further within 30 mins of lights out as I think the tang is much less active. The clowns and tang have a hate-hate relationship it seems.

Clowns arent for everyone and can be nasty but sooner or later we end up with one

It's probably true, but some seem to survive captivity. Got my piglet clown at the size of a quarter. 1 year later, he/she is over 4". Biggest eater. But, typical tang aggression. Once piglets about 6". There's a new home for him/her waiting.

We did have a massive spurt of aggression one morning. Scopas tang got a hole in her fin from the clown. Clown was put into the sump for a couple of days. After returning to the display, aggression died down dramatically.
Measured before sumped.

But, like any tang. They can get nasty. My powder blue was 10x worse than any tang i kept.
