I went to the LFS the other day and got a Sun Coral, It was free, it isn't a good specimen of the coral, someone had brought it into the store because they just wanted to get it out of their tank.Anyway, the store owner sold me some Cyclop-eeze to feed it. He told that all the corals in my tank will eat this stuff, so after I feed the Sun Coral, I give my polys a taste. Am I doing them any good or just wasting my money?

Everything loves cyclops! It's one of my go to foods for finicky fish:bigsmile:

edit- as far as the sun coral, it took a while, but I tired of feeding mine and am ready to rid myself of it.

All your corals/fish will enjoy the cyclops! Since ive been feeding ive not only noticed a size difference but a color difference as well.. Everything seems to open up more and brighter colors.. It may take awhile for your sun coral to come out.. When I had mine I fed it at the same time every day / every other day and the polyps started to open up by themselfs at that time after a week even with the lights on.. Wish I could find a nice frag of em now!

You can never go wrong with feeding frozen cyclopeeze. So much life in your tank will eat it that it's well worth it!!! Go easy though. A lil' bit goes a LONG way!!!

Ok, They will get fed. I have more ???, do you target feed the polys or just release it into the tank and let the power heads spread it around for you?

I target feed everything in my tank twice a week. What ever is left over in the cup I just rinse out in the tank and let the power heads spread it around. Oh, I also turn off my pumps a couple of minutes before I feed. I turn the pumps back on about 5 minutes after I have finished feeding. Debbie

I feed a mixture of frozen silversides, krill, mysis, brine shrimp. I take a frozen chunk of each and mince it up in a bullet blender. Then I add soem tank water and let the mixture get to temp and pour some of the juice into the tank. THis will get the sun coral to prep for feeding. After abotu 5 min I shut off flow and target feed. Works great. Have baby sun corals sprouting all over the tank now.
Make sure your Sun coral lives in a high flow/low light area.
