Am I wrong to ask for a refund/store credit?

so these were taken this morning, and they have been looking like that since the day I got it (10 days ago) and put into my tank. Trust me those weren't their original colors. My 3 main parameters are alk 8.95, Cal 470, Mag 1480, tank is currently fishless so phosphate and nitrate shouldn't be an issue, and you can tell my other corals are thriving. I acclimated and dipped (Revive) them like I did with all my other corals, a routine I been practicing for a long time. I also tried moving them to different spots to try out, low flow, low light, under shade...

Vendor told me on the second day that if they are dead within 10 days I get a refund. Today I emailed them the pictures they said no refund cuz they weren't dead... well, the chalice refused to ingest any food I placed on their mouth and they been looking like that for the past 10 days I am pretty sure they will be gone soon, just not within the allowed period from said vendor. They did offer me a credit if I pay for shipping and ship them back which was nice of them but I have no shipping experience so if I go that route they might end up dead when they reach the vendor anyway.


End of my ranting, sorry if I bored any of you. On a side note, any advice how I can save them?

Wrong to expect? Yes. Caveat emptor applies.

I would suggest that you buy stock locally that you can see before purchasing if this situation is completely intolerable. Credit sounds like a reasonable offer.

Color loss happens often during shipping, they will eventually get their color back. So I guess I agree with the vendor?

ya, sorry, but I think you are expecting a little much. There is a good chance they will end up exactly like you want them to be. 10 days is not enough time for a coral to fully acclimate.

that is what I hope for that they will recover. I just thought the browning and bleaching and not eating = certain death.

They don't look to be receeding so I would say give them some time.

I have great success with low light or even shaded area for new chalice pieces. but every coral is different in the way it reacts. it will come back, it is just mad

Give it time.
I bought a $5 frag from a pet store bc they got it browned out after a month or so.
Boom it colored up amazingly.
It looks like something I would see under the $55 price range
