Amazing Corals from BattleCorals

Well, some time ago, I got a care package from Adam and just wanted to show how the corals are doing. I genuinely believe it is critical to show pictures of BattleCorals in different systems so we can all see how similar the corals remain. I think we all want our corals to look as close as possible as the pictures which mesmerized us and made us want to get them into our systems.

I don't think so. I have an A. abrotanoides and they are different. I honestly do not know what the Bleeding Tree Acro is.

That one looks like aborlhonesis^^^


The one you posted in the OP looks like abortanoides IMO, the radials on abortanoides are tubular and have narrow corallites, where as aborlhonesis radials are more dish shaped and nariform.

I'd say that's possible, they are very similar.

Adam, I got that as a small frag from Menard's main tank. It is the thick true staghorn. So you are probably right, it does look like an A. robusta!

Here is the picture of the mother colony. I took a screenshot from an old video.



I have had that frag for a couple of years, and it has spent all its energy building a base. Based on the picture, it needs that base to support the weight of the skeleton.
