I just cancelled a order on Amazon and tried to file a complaint. Good luck getting support that understands you if you are english speaking. I was able to cancel the order from what they told me but will not be credited back to my card for two days. They have a sale listed for Instant Ocean salt 200 gal box for $49.98 free shipping. At the end of the transaction it had a 49.98 total. Then the email comes a couple hours later with confirmation of order totaling $78.00. As far as I'm concerned that's a scam. I'll be ordering from Dr. Fosters and Smith for $49.98 with free shipping and pay the $3.50 tax.

Interesting, I've been ordering my IO from them for the past year and I've never had an issue. Will keep an eye out as I'm about due for another purchase.

Yes, I had signed in and had my total after hitting the buy and it showed it at $49.98 then later cam a confirmation of order email showing $78 And change.

So strange! Good you caught that! Did they have an explanation? Was there a shipping charge added?

that sucks. but I got the better of them a few months ago when i ordered my new t5 light. I paid for one, and they sent me two haha. if anyone lives near western ma and needs a 36" 4 bulb fixture hit me up

Something must have happened to yours at checkout. I just ordered and mine totaled $54.10 with tax.

No explanation. Never had a issue with Amazon before. I still have other orders coming from them with free shipping and the pricing is correct on the confirmation emails. I called support to make sure the order was cancelled and they assured me it was and sent me a follow up email. When I asked how I could go about filing some sort of complaint about the ad they seemed to not understand what I was saying.

Not fish related, but there were times I had ordered one item and they charged me for two items. I had to call and aggressively dispute it. It might be worth to look into it.

I always order my IO salt from them and never had an issue either.

There has to be more to this story. I order my salt from there about 1 a month and never had any issues. I also order a TON from Amazon not fish related and have also never had any issues like that.

Also, chat with them and they will make it right. They've always gone above and beyond for me through the chat system.

I called support, I'll try chat and see what happened.
I have been a prime member for several years. Wanna hear something funny about Amazon going the extra mile - I bought a toilet on amazon! Yes, I knew exactly what I wanted and it was shipped but the top lid of the top was cracked, so I called and they sent another out - that was cracked too! Porcelain is very fragile obviously. Well Amazon contacted the manufacturer who told them they do not make that style top any more and would need to send another type to fit. Well, it was perfectly fine, however Amazon was not happy so they credited me for the entire purchase! So I got a free toilet!!! Yes, I will say Amazon goes the extra mile for their customers. ;)

Off subject but it concerns Amazon. We sell through Amazon here at work. A few years ago they were supposed to send us back our expired product. Instead of getting back our stuff they sent toys to us. We called them and told them about the error and that we have two pallets loaded with toys, they told us don't worry about it and to just keep it. I couldn't believe it, this was a lot of toys! We have a small company so some people took some for their kids, I gave some to my Nieces and Nephews, but most of it was donated to churches.

Amazon customer service is great. A couple years ago I ordered something and paid for Saturday delivery. It didn't arrive until Monday. I called and informed them. They said they couldn't refund me the delivery fee but gave me a free year of Prime. A couple days later I saw the credited delivery fee on my account. Added bonus!
