Amazon selling frag racks for $7.99?

You can get cheap frag racks on eBay....

Link doesn't show for me. Can you repost, please?

Much cheaper by the square inch.
But what about those aesthetic legs? Sure you can just use zip-ties and egg crate but how your corals gonna look good if your frag rack don't look good! 3D printed legs gonna cost ya like $20!

I will need to buy one to test it out, but if the pencil holder is the same size as egg crate then it may still be worth it just for the legs. . .

are the holes large enough?

Bad news and good news. . .

Bad news is the legs are slightly too small for standard egg crates. . .

Good news is the stand fits plugs just fine!

The picture on Amazon showed that it has a bottom that looks identical to the top??

If so, you can cut the legs in half and have a set of 2 for $8.

Unfortunately, the bottom is solid on one side. so you could do that, and that was my initial hope as well, but then you would have one frag rack, and then one just platform.

does it sink or float?
as long as you get the air out of the legs it sinks!

EDIT: please note, I did test in freshwater, because there’s much more room in my porch pond than my aquarium!

Solid on one side would be perfect for tiles with encrusters

Thanks for the follow up. I was just thinking this morning I wish I had a rack for the bottom of one tank and the ones I build are confined to the sump frag section as they are very ugly.
I will say, I’m not sure which plastic this is made out of? My understanding is most plastics. Are reef safe? Any input you guys have would be great!

I guess it depends on the porosity of the plastic and the chemicals they used for the release process. Since it is not a food related product, they probably do not use safe standards other than a child chewing on it. This is all an assumption. But I would boil it/rinse in some RO to maybe rinse or separate any release agents. But in truth, just throw it in the dishwasher... lol
